Part L.O.P. List E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 74694

Description of Parts: IGNITION GOVERNOR OIL RELAY PISTON USING METAL PACKING RINGS.
Origin: To obtain more sensitive ignition control and lessen detonation. To work with less oil pressure.

Experimental Test Report.
This was improved to overcome sluggishness in action to retard ignition in ratio of engine speed and to operate with less oil pressure.

Road Test Report.
Fitted to 12-EX and ran 10,000 miles in France. With ignition levers set full advance the timing was set to 170 B.T.D.C., this gave the best results. The governor was sensitive throughout the test. Detonations were considerably reduced. It was a considerable improvement over the present standard fitting.
