B.80. & B.81. ENGINES. AUTOMATIC CHOKE & THROTTLE. Report No. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore}/C&S. RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/WAC. M/TW. We recently asked you to provide us with a design for a single control but on a throttle pedal and the carburettor on the 8-cylinder engine. We showed you a set of controls shared up on H.R.F. which were similar than those originally designed and which gave satisfaction. Actually we did not intend to couple a design for an automatic choke with these controls. We are in no way influenced against this, but we have fitted up one of the bevelled controls and found that to the simple unit fitted they would not have interfered with the automatic start which we believe we shall fit. It was for this reason that we asked you to consider the bi-metal strip to action, located on the throttle spindle. We have now decided that, in order to enable you to clean up all the carburettor controls at one bite, we will give you a specification for: 1. The throttle control required. 2. The best automatic choke that we know of. 3. The best carburettor that we know of. so that one comprehensive scheme can be produced dealing with all three items. B-THROTTLE CONTROL. 1. Throttle Control. The throttle control as on H.R.F. a photograph of which - Continued - | ||
