( 2 ) 9) B2 set at 31.500" to give no play in slotted link. Drawing gives 32.300". If this was lengthened and B1 shortened, both to drawing, play in B2 slotted link would be over one inch. 10) Cables R1 and R2 were 26.750" and 26.687" respectively. Drawing indicates 26.550". Do cables stretch ? 11) R7 and R8 set 28.000" and 28.187" to take slack out of ropes. Drawing indicates 28.500". 12) A1 is a cable fitted by us to help to reduce pedal vibration. 13) A2 set 5.875" to give slight slack in A1. 14) Brake pedal is 9" from back of pedal plate in off position and well clear of carpets when depressed with servo slacked off and rear ropes disconnected. This also brings bell cranks D1 and D2 .050" from their stops. 15) The floorboard cross rail has already been cut away to clear the pedals. 16) The rods to the slotted links B1 and B2 both come very close to the edge of the frame slots. 17) There is adequate clearance on this car for the heads of the pinch bolts in the levers on the servo countershaft. 18) We note that with combined hand and foot brake systems, when the hand brake is on, the plate U of the servo can be turned quite freely through a large angle, which makes the correct setting of the nut G a very simple matter as any drag on the discs can at once be felt. We shall be pleased to receive your observations in due course. ----------- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} Ivan M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Waller. | ||
