Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /GR. {George Ratcliffe} 2/JAB.13.1.39. DAILY REPORT. Paulin Bentley II. - B-27-LE. Ignition timed and control set halfway up the quadrant at T.D.C. Plugs cleaned and fitted, O.K. EXS.959. Air intake fitted to carburetters, flange holes eased to fit intake centres and throttles balanced with clearance for shaft control. Overflow drain pipes made and fitted to float chambers and intake casting. Exhaust system assembled with cut-out fitted in standard position. Rear half of undersheet left off and tank merged into bodywork. Mixture control set midway for adjustment while running, and needles pulled out to suit. Petrol piping nickle plated, completed and flow checked.
