Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. Robotham.

We are in receipt of your letter of the 30th inst, and as requested by you we are putting two pumps in hand with the reduced loading. We regret that it will not be possible to reduce the overall length as if we did this it would mean that we should have to increase the loading again, which we do not think advisable.

It will be some little time before we get these pumps through, as they have to be mainly machined out of the solid; the original sample which we sent you was made of parts which we already had available.

Yours faithfully,
For THE S.U. COMPANY.

R Leslie Kent
