BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} from BY/RB.{R. Bowen} Copy .c.c. to EH. BY/RB{R. Bowen}5/P5.6.19. INSTRUMENT BOARD - FUAL GUAGE. X 354Y Referring to your BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}14/P29.5.19., we have no Release valve on the air pressure system at all. A control valve on the Air Pump is so arranged that air is only admitted to the pump when the pressure in the system falls below 3 lbs. It is obvious therefore that we can only run the pump at 3 lbs. pressure. This is the principle of the pump which was standardised immediately prior to the War, with the pressure increased from 2 to 3 lbs. in accordance with Mr. Royce's instructions. I think you will therefore agree that it is quite advisable that the red marking should be left off. BY/RB.{R. Bowen} 1625 D (51-91-92 CCT 3 S) CL 005) 912 R H | ||
