The failure of an American Bosch ignition coil during a 10,000-mile bench test.

Customer's No.: X 4275 American Bosch ignition coil type TC 30 This coil, which is one of the two sent to us by OY, failed whilst undergoing a 10000 mile bench test, at 7800 miles. The conditions were quite normal the coil being run off a 6v battery, and with an American Bosch distributor which is standard with the coil. The failure was not complete in the sense that sparking ceased altogether but only in the nature of bad misfiring on 6.5 mm gaps. The coil was replaced on the rig by an old standard R.R. coil and ballast so as to complete the 10000 mile test from the point of Signed: contd This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
