On 4/9/13, we wrote Mr. Nadin to instruct the Drawing Office to get out some method for giving each batch of valve springs a rapid destructive test, in accordance with instructions we had received from Mr. Johnson. During the four months that have elapsed, the Works have received no instructions to make the necessary rig, and Mr. Johnson has again written asking for a report on the matter.

We have written Mr. Nadin several times and the following is his latest [handwritten: last] reply:-

"We have written Mr. Elliott concerning this subject under cover of our memos Na{Mr Nadin}11/B5913 Na{Mr Nadin}18/B181213. Na{Mr Nadin}23/B8114. but have not yet received any note from him in connection with this matter."

Will you please let us know what is being done in the matter, so that we may be able to report to Mr. Johnson, as he has requested us to do.
