9 300 HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}2/R.26.1.37. P.III ENGINE. We want to make a serious effort to eliminate the torsional period noticeable on P.III cars. The type of damper at present used is not adequate. We shall be very glad, therefore, if you would produce the necessary drawings to enable us to try:- (1) The 'Packard' damper which has already been adapted to a 20/25 engine. (2) 'Cadillac' rubber damper. (3) 'Buick' Harmonic damper. Nos. 2 and 3 are in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s office. All three dampers should be fitted outside the wheelcase. We shall be glad also if you would urge completion of the flexible flywheel, instructions for which are now ready. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
