Re - Faulty Exide Batteries. -------------------------- The following is a list showing the Exide Batteries inspected and the decisions respecting charges arrived at between Mr. McKinnon of the Chloride Co. and ourselves on the 10th ult. Will Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} kindly issue the necessary labels releasing these batteries to Chat's stores for return to the makers. Ex. Chassis 44-TW 1 - 12 volt Exide Battery - Chloride Co. to charge for renovating. Shipping Office ref. Y/S 41182. Ex. Chassis 14-PP 5 cells and case, 1 cell separate, Chloride Co. to charge for renovating in both instances. Shipping Office refs. D/EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/LH{Mr Haworth}3/B6.4.22 and Y/S 40873 also see Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}4/NJ15.5.22 in which it is stated the Chloride Co. intend returning the 6 cells complete built up into case. Chassis 21-TW 1 - 12 volt Exide Battery - Chloride Co. to renovate free of charge. Ex. Test Dept. 1 - 12 volt Exide Battery, Chloride Co. to submit report and price before proceeding with renovation. Ex. Chloride Co's., London Depot., Shaftesbury Avenue. 1 - 12 volt Battery, 12 - 2 volt Cells. We propose returning the whole of the above to the makers for general repair and overhaul. The Chloride will quote prices where they cannot repair free of charge. EFC has suggested a 50% basis overhaul would be quite reasonable.
