c. to EFC. X.607 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/CEP11/Ecl.7.22. Re. Chassis 122-EE. Mrs. McConnell. We have dismantled from the above car which is now in our Department for attention 1 faulty Exide 12 volt Battery. This battery has been examined for faults and in 5 of the cells the plates are badly buckled causing a short circuit, also 1 of the cell cases are cracked. There are no ebonite separators fitted in any of the above cells. The 6th. cell is evidently a replacement being practically new and having the Chloride Co's., latest improvements embodied. According to our records this battery has now done almost 2 years service and although the buckling of the plates may have been caused through the absence of ebonite separators we expect the maker's will charge for the repairs entailed. This latter item we will leave, however, until the next visit of the Chloride Co's., representative. [Stamp: RECEIVED 1922] [Handwritten initials: EP{G.
