Dear Sirs,

In experiments on cooling radiators we wish to measure accurately the average temperature of the water inlet and outlet. We are considering doing this by measuring the difference in resistance of Nickel wires wound on a former and placed in the flow. We enclose a drawing of the thermometers we propose using and would appreciate your criticism of them.

We shall also require a bridge to the accompanying sketch which you will see can be used for these water thermometers, also of 30 w. resistance, which we shall wind on an X. of 18" diagonal, held in the air stream.

We shall be glad if you will send us an estimate for supplying a bridge wired as shewn with a rider on the potentiometer, and three standard resistances, two of 10 w. and one of 30 w. and two water thermometers each of 30 w. resistance. The air thermometer we shall make ourselves.

Yours faithfully,

For Rolls-Royce Ltd.
