1269? Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}9/MH.{M. Huckerby} 22nd. May, 1939. The Morgan Crucible Co, Ltd., Battersea Works, Church Road, LONDON, S.W.11. Your Ref: Zkb/EG. Dear Sirs, Sometime ago we were in communication with you regarding sealing washers to EXS.1021, drawing enclosed, and as you remarked in your letter of the 15th. September, we have had some difficulty in making a satisfactory job of inserting the brass peg. As we have experienced some difficulty in other directions with regard to this peg, we should like to know whether it would be possible to incorporate the peg in the washer during manufacture, and we should be very glad to have your views on this. If this scheme is feasible we should like to alter the peg dimensions and use a rectangular piece .062" x .100". Failing this, we should like some more experimental washers, 2 off, drilled for a .062" dia. hole and 2 off drilled for a .080" dia. hole. Our official order will follow as soon as we hear from you. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
