R.R. JUNCTION BOX AND SWITCH BOARD.
We consider that arrangements should be made so that spare fuses are carried in a Case clipped to the Distribution Board. It has been pointed out that this case might be made in the form of a box spanner to suit the nuts in the Distribution Board. In any case, a spanner will be necessary for these nuts in order that they shall be done up properly without being damaged.
The only criticism we have against the R.R. Switch Box is the appearance of the knobs for operating the switches! The method of fixing the knob leaves the steel spindle with a deep centre hole exposed. What happens is, that the hole becomes filled with dirt and the steel spindle becomes rusty. Unless the steel spindle is finished off for length after the knob is fitted there is a risk that the screwed portion will either protrude through the knob or stand underneath it. We suggest that it might be possible to recess the knobs and let in a small cap to cover up the steel spindle.
