PEREGRINE TRANSMISSION. Referring to E.2/HP.12.1.33. the coupling behind the gearbox in the form of a toothed drive we specified originally in error in nickel steel, but about a month or so ago I noticed that this was the case and had both of these altered to C.H.N.S. We admit that the original instruction was a mistake, but it was an oversight and not intentional. Now, in addition to having both in C.H.N.S., I have specified that one must be ground and the other (the internal member) lapped, so as to obtain a close fit. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
