arrangement.

What we feel is important in any installation on the 20 h.p. tank, is that the Sprengel cups should be in as close a proximity as possible to a vertical baffle in the tank. This position gives us sufficient rise and fall for air pumping.

It has been noted on the writer's car - which is still installed with the old Temple type unit - that absence of air pumping has taken place when the petrol level has stood at the region of the top cup. In this position the cup comes directly opposite the large opening cutting in your baffle for passing the old float type gauge. Practically, in effect, this places the cup in the centre of a fairly wide compartment in the tank, instead of near a baffle at one side of a compartment where considerable vertical rise and fall of the petrol takes place.

We are now only waiting for a small part for the special gauge set which we are making for you to go in the existing gauge hole on the 20 h.p. tank, and we hope to despatch this set to you early next week. In the meantime, if you could send us a sketch of the arrangement which you have in mind, we think we could accommodate your requirements.

Yours faithfully.
