X5783do BY/RD2/ML.27.2.28. C. EFC. 20 H.P. CHASSIS - DYNAMO ARMATURE - SEC:8070/90. It is desired to make quickly a dynamo armature with a special winding, the parts are all standard, it is only a matter of slight winding modifications. Armature. Standard to L.O.P. D.51490, but instead of winding the armature coils with 2 wires - 4 turns, 4 ends, we need 4 wires, 2 turns, 8 ends - the commutator will be left a little larger in diameter to take the extra ends. Wind the armature to standard (D.51491), but in each bar there will be twice the number of ends to put in and so we shall want the commutator leaving to its maximum possible diameter on the lugs i.e. 2.450 and the sawcut to then be .160 deep or flush with the face diameter of 2.125. No doubt you will get Mr Brock to produce this armature and as he has some commutators being turned this (Monday) morning I am getting one turned and sawcut suitable for this job. Will you please hand the armature to EFC. as soon as possible. BY/RD. | ||
