April 12th.

On April 10th. the car ran to Boulogne doing 320 miles, and on the 11th. 360 miles making a total to date of 5608 miles.

The car generally is running well but the worst feature is the rattles the shock absorber ball joints, the rear ball joints want renewing.

The tyres are now getting thin on the treads and being cut by the stones. We had two punctures yesterday, one stone cut and one nail puncture.

The hangers for the battery box have not yet arrived and we are still carrying the battery in the body.

The clutch is still working very well but the brakes are still poor and inconsistent.

April 14th.

On April 12th. the car ran 355 miles, but on the 13th. only 226, making a total to date of 6189 miles. The car was delayed owing to tyre trouble, having two burst covers (stone cuts) which have now been repaired and one puncture. I bought one new inner tube to replace damaged one and

OUR COMMENTS.

This point is already having attention by R.{Sir Henry Royce} and at W.W. We are also testing out leather covers for these joints on 6-C-II and 7-C-II.

We require some information as to how and where these have broken, and if possible the actual faulty brackets. Possibly Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} has shown these to R.{Sir Henry Royce} at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence. We have requested him to do this or to send the brackets to us for investigation as at present we are rather at a loss to know what to do.

We understand this point is being taken up at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence by Ms. and Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} with R.{Sir Henry Royce} This report does not appear to agree with the report from Ms. on 4-C-II.
