Gearboxes. 36-EX. (1) Check the alignment while the car is in the shop for the pendulum lever changeover, and if the gearbox and engine alignment is incorrect, rectify. Check the balance of the fabric coupling. (2) If no results are obtained by (1), remove box and modify to prevent coming out by American method. (3) Fit box to 30-EX, test on road and dynamometer. 35-EX & 37-EX. 3rd motion shafts should be put through for these boxes to prevent gear coming out. Box for Hancock. No. 4. Parts should be instructed giving 9° screw threaded cones and third motion shaft to prevent gears jumping out. The box will not be erected until we have some information from the other cars.
