Petrol consumption tests and vehicle weights for a Packard car and Car 7 CA.

Further to my reports on the Packard Car, I give below the result of the petrol consumption tests - four tests were made as follows:- (1) With the carburettor mixture control in the mid-way position -10.6miles per gallon. (2) With the carburettor mixture control half way between the mid-way position and the weak position - 11.8 miles per gallon. (3) With the carburettor mixture control in the full open position - 12.2 miles per gallon. (4) Same as (3) The speeds at which these tests were made were between 20 and 30 miles per hour, on fairly level roads. The weight of the car with its tools, and spare tyres etc. is:- On front wheels - 2130 lbs. " rear wheels - 2500 lbs. 4630 lbs. Car 7 CA similarly equipped weighs :- On front wheels - 2152 lbs.
