18th May 1929.
Dear Sirs,
We have now had an opportunity of examining the faulty K.{Mr Kilner} S. 180 gauge which the writer brought back with him, and we are happy to say that it was not a glass tube breakage on this occasion, but a definite breakdown.
The clearances in the body casting were hardly sufficient in our opinion, and caused this breakdown.
The gauge modified and repaired will be returned to you for your personal attention as soon as we open after the holidays.
Yours faithfully,
H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} HOBSON, Ltd.,
