TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to C.I. ORIGINAL. RE. WATFORD MAGNETO CONTROL. X3551 On 5.Goshawk 11. at WW. the magneto control for the advance and retard sets up an objectionable clicking at low speeds due to the torque re-action of the sleeve. You have previously pointed out that this re-action could be felt on the control, and hitherto that has been the only manifestation of it's presence. If you agree that this is likely to give rise to complaint perhaps you would kindly let us know what spring tension is necessary at the magneto end of the control, to keep it wound up always one way.
