"The rubber joints should be carefully examined before filling with anti freezing solution and if perished should be replaced, as Glycerine has a searching action which is likely to open cracks in perished rubber."

We think the glycerine people should receive a letter withdrawing the remarks that have been made to them concerning rubber by whoever was responsible for starting the discussion.

We know that glycerine is a preservative for rubber, it is also a descaler and perished rubber connections which are possibly only prevented from leaking by the scale which has accumulated in the cracks in the rubber will leak due to the glycerine loosening the scale.

The present situation with regard to anti freezing mixtures is clearly laid out in our Depot Sheets and other circulated information and we have no reason to alter our recommendations.
