B.50 NO.3 UNIT. MAIN BEARINGS. Vandervell strip Babbitt. 2.75 journal crank - 2.902 housing. RUNNING TIMES: Part Throttle 57 hrs. 30 mins., Full Throttle 48 hrs. 15 mins. TOTAL 105 hrs. 45 mins. Including 50 hours endurance, made up as follows :- (1) For first 18 hours conditions were - 7 hrs. full load, 2 hrs. half load, 1 hr. quarter load, - in every 10 hours. Each half load hour consisted of - ¼ hr. 3000 r.p.m., ¼ hr. 3500 r.p.m., ½ hr. 4000 r.p.m. (2) For remainder conditions were :- 7 hrs. full load, 2 hrs. half load, 1 hr. quarter load - in every 10 hours. Each full load hour consisted of - ¼ hr. 3000 r.p.m., ¼ hr. 3500 r.p.m., 10 mins 4200 r.p.m., 10 mins 4290 r.p.m., 5 mins. 4500 r.p.m. Each part load hour consisted of ¼ hr. 3000 r.p.m., ¼ hr. 3500 r.p.m., ½ hr. 4000 r.p.m. Oil inlet temperature - 100°C. Oil outlet temperature - 110°C. Oil pressure - 35-40 lb/sq.in.; Oil used during endurance - Motorine "D". | ||
