WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ) FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} RG.{Mr Rowledge} ) Dr. ) Copy to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} R1/M23.4.31. y 3054. ELECTRICAL WORK. We must find a good theoretical mathematician to carry on the purely technical work of this department, but someone of greater practical ability than EFC. One assumes that LR.{Mr Ellor} or LOV.{Mr Lovesey} could not spare the time, or perhaps would not care for the work. Then one thinks of Tresilian, Leslie; and Grylls, as being somewhat suitable. It does not seem that it need take all one's time for the purely theoretical investigations, but we should have someone to keep all the technical data to which we can refer concerning experimental designs, calculations, results of experiments, and know all the troubles. Mr. Elliott takes this work at my end, and would be in touch with someone suitable at the Works, so as to leave Mr. Brock free for his practical production work. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
