TO BX. FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} SECRET. Copy to - HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C. 3. SERVO. x9910 We send you herewith N. scheme 1823, shewing a design of servo of the shoe type, which will fit into the existing space, and will use the existing brake linkage. The servo shaft in the gearbox is modified, but the remainder of the drive in the gear-box is unaltered. It will be noticed that the picking up pins are shewn solid, and this is a necessity of the design. The cam levers are the same, but there is a modification shewn to the adjustment. It will be understood that this design will only be used if the negotiations regarding the plate clutch fail. We think however it would be desirable to have an experimental set of this design going as soon as possible. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
