All other parts, including top and bottom triangle-lever fulcrum pins and bearings, bottom yoke bearings, main levers, pistons, main springs and the pivot pins were in excellent condition, there being little or no sign of wear.

Front Brakes LOP.G.83068. N.S.4739-4361-4392.

These too, were in good condition, wear on the brake linings and drums being small, though both drum and linings on the O.S. were slightly grooved.

Toggle shafts and actuating levers were in good condition, there being hardly any sign of wear and the "off" stops were satisfactory. The brakes had been adjusted 26 half-turns and the adjusting mechanism was in good condition throughout. The cams, though burred, worked freely and were free from rust or dirt.

Lubrication to all parts was adequate.

Rear Road Springs.Firths No. 201. 1350 lbs. type.

Despatched 25. 2. 37. - mileage 12,000.

These were in good condition as regards the leaves, which were, for the most part, free from rust and well lubricated. Wear on the shackle pins and wearing-washers, however, was excessive and measurements are given on Ex.1.167.

The oil-pipe supplying the N.S. spring had broken off close to the coil at the front anchorage. The pipe was badly battered by stones and requires a guard. The rear rubber buffer housings had collapsed as shown in Ex.1.165.

Steering Column and Box LOP.F.87743. "E" Type.

This was in good condition throughout, though there were signs of oil leaks from the box. The roller follower and ball races were crack-tested and found to be O.K.

Side Steering Tube LOP.F.87178.

Rear end ball pads, springs, distance pieces, etc. despatched 16. 3. 37 - mileage approx. 12,000.
