86081 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.4/MA. 26th March, 1934. Messrs. S.Smith & Sons Ltd., Cricklewood Works, London, N.W.2. For the attention of Mr.C.W.Nichols. Dear Sir, We are very anxious to discuss with your instrument Designers the question of modified forms of illumination for instruments, more particularly in connection with the Bentley chassis. You will remember in this connection that we have asked the A.T.Co., to scheme out a pair of instrument with combined dials. We wonder if it is possible for you to ask Mr.Dorer to visit us immediately after the holiday, by which time the A.T. drawing should be ready, and bring his drawings along with him in order that he can discuss with us instrument illumination generally. Will you kindly let us know if these suggestions meet with your approval and if so whether arrangements can be made for such an interview. We have a number of ideas ourselves which would probably be helpful also to Mr.Dorer in connection with his own ideas. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
