NOTES ON MEETING AT W. 5.7.1938. Present: Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}, Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, Mr. Roberts, Mr. Falconer, Mr. Finney, By, Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}, Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} 1. Park Ward are to prepare a detailed schedule showing the estimated tool material and labour costs for the proposed bodies for Phoenix. The schedule is to give separate figures for each item. P.W. are to provide similar information for:- (a) Present Standard Bentley Bodies, and, (b) The proposed bodies for Bentley III. 2. W. will provide Park Ward with similar details in respect of the Briggs Shells. 3. Park Ward stated the bodies sent W for 1-B.V and 2-B.V. are Prototypes so far as construction is concerned, of the proposed standardised bodies for Bentley III. 4. A second body is to be laid down for B-50 of a modified design. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} asked that this further body should be of wood and aluminium instead of steel so as to give him a standard. He will provide details for P.W. of the changes in the appearance of the new body compared with the first body. 5. A body in steel for chassis III B-V being the third Experimental Bentley III chassis is to be brought through. This is to incorporate the new dimensions settled on recently. P.W. stated they feared they would want three months to complete each body but promised to do all they can to reduce this time. 6. If the Briggs scheme goes through one of their bodies is to be tried out on a Phoenix chassis. If possible the experiment is to be made with a body as already produced for another chassis provided the construction is similar to that which it is proposed to give us. ----- | ||
