RE SHUTTERED BONNETS. X.1085

J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 30-7-14.
R.{Sir Henry Royce}
E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
Na.{Mr Nadin}

Bonnets having a single shutter on each side were reported on by Mr Hives 11/3/14 and as the tests showed that these were not very efficient Mr Royce suggested on May 3rd that a trial be made with shutters at each end.

A Bonnet so constructed was fitted to chassis 58NA{Mr Nadin} and a second one has recently been made to be tested on a car in Derby. We attach herewith Mr Hives report on same.
