To EY. from BA. c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X5425 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M28.5.26. INDIA STEERING CONNECTIONS. X.5425 X.5450 X.8425 X.457 We send herewith Na.{Mr Nadin}ch.2201 shewing the spring loaded ball joint for the India cross steering tube. This is in accordance with R's instructions that all joints shall be spring loaded to give additional friction to the system for preventing wobbles etc. The rear end of the side steering tube already has this friction provided for. On the front end we expect we shall use ~~exactly~~ the arrangement of N.sch.2201 but we will confirm this in a day or two. As regards the Phantom the cross steering tube on N.sch.2054 and the side steering tube is already existing so that we believe you now have information for all the steering connections on both cars.
