X. 5940 To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} BA2/M28.5.25. FOUR WHEEL BRAKES. With further reference to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LGS0.5.25., do you agree that it would be wise to have a definite understanding as to what is meant by 'servo efficiency' which you refer to in that memo. as being of the value of 1.250 on the 'India' servo with a 45° cam. In the last para. it is defined as the ratio of input over output, whereas we should have thought the efficiency should be the output over input. We wonder whether this is an error or whether the meaning is really as given in that para. The effect on us at present is that we are not quite sure what to take the India servo as actually doing.
