- 2 - Messrs. Rolls Royce, Ltd. would be almost, if not quite, as expensive to carry out as the supply of that part as made straight in production. You will no doubt have gathered from the above remarks that taking everything into consideration, we are strongly of the opinion that a Steering gear should be made up in every particular in line with our latest blueprint as shown on the general arrangement drawing, G.A.2329 a copy of which was enclosed with our letter of the 25th July. In order that you may be able to go into this matter yourselves, should you so desire, we are sending to you under separate cover the following drawings:- M.621 and G.A.1388, which are general arrangement drawings of our standard R.1 gear as supplied, and the modifications of the same as supplied to you. P.1300, the Cam of the old type gear, and P.2275, the same item of the latest type. P.1305, the Rocker Shaft of the old type gear, and P.2271 the same item of the latest type. A further general arrangement G.A.2329 of the latest R.7 Gear. We think that these drawings will enable you to check for yourselves the remarks we make at the beginning of this letter. We trust that we may have the pleasure of making up one of these gears for you, and we shall look forward to hearing further from you in regard to the same very shortly. Assuring you of our best attention. We are, Yours faithfully, for ADAMANT ENGINEERING COMPANY LIMITED. [Signature] Director. | ||
