-4- Later Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} will issue a Depot Sheet in respect of the fitting of this stay as soon as material is available and cars will be dealt with retrospectively as they come in. 6. Overoiling. A decision was taken that no more Phantom III cars should be delivered without close fitting valve guides. N. will carry out the work in the case of all the cars which may be still at Coachbuilders by arrangement with JLE.{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} reports there will be no difficulty about finding the necessary valve guide material without delay. 7. Low Speed Steering Wobble. Er. reported this trouble is being experienced on the Continent and even his own demonstration car is periodically affected. Design and Experimental Depts. are working on a new scheme for increased poundage of the ball contacts of the cross steering tubes, and this scheme will be tested out as soon as possible on 32 EX in France. It is also proposed to adopt as soon as possible the Wraith Geometry Lay-out. (4) 25/30 H.P. WORST FEATURES. 1. Slow Running. This trouble was discussed at some length and the following decision was made:- The Experimental Department will provide a new type coil and a new type distributor, which they consider will give a 40% improvement to the slow running when the engine is hot. One set of this material will be sent to N. to fit to a representative case. (1a) Popping which is very much inter-connected with slow running is left in the hands of Experimental Department for further investigation and report at the next meeting. 2. Petrol Pumps. 3. Steering, Jogles and Wandering at Speed. Er. reported complaints of this kind from customers and CONTD.
