X 4136 EFC. BY14-P5.2.24. 20HP CONDENSERS. I have received the attached Condenser and Make & Break Lever from Cricklewood, which has been taken from GA.70. The car in question was only delivered to the customer on October 15th, last, and has not exceeded 1000 miles and yet the platinums are completely burnt out. From a casual examination of the Condenser it would appear to be quite good, the case not being flabby when pressed with the fingers, whilst the screwed connections for the contact piece in the cover appear to be sound and firm in every respect. Would you kindly conduct some experiments with this Condenser to see whether you can confirm the burning away of the platinums, if so, then I would like you to dismantle the Condenser and find out for me what is causing the trouble. If nothing abnormal can be discovered in connection with the Condenser itself, I would like to know if there are any other connections which, being poor, would result in the burning away of the platinums?
