Mr. A.W.Claremont, Vernon House (Sicilian Avenue) Bloomsbury Square, LONDON, W.C.1. Dear Mr. Claremont, x 3082. RE ELECTRIC STARTER. I send you herewith another version of the wording for the provisional specification. You may consider it describes it more clearly, or you may extract something from it which will help to make the provisional more valuable. Per- sonally, I doubt whether these little schemes are worth patenting, but experience teaches us that we ought to make the mistake of patenting too many rather than too few parts. OBJECT OF THE INVENTION. "The automatic sequence of operating (controlling) electric starter gear so that the gear may be more silent than usual". "It applies to sliding clutches as well as sliding pinions. "It refers to starters which are electrically controlled". For ease of understanding I call the special units as follows:- (1) Magnetic actuating mechanism. (2) Magnetic slow moving contact maker. (3) Magnetic main switch. (A) The electrical circuits are first divided into two, one being the control circuit, a small current passing (Contd.) | ||
