Re Maddocks.

Dr. Campbell Thomson was mentioning to-day that Maddocks in the Test Dept. was suffering from the results of a bad chill and influenza, and it would be advantageous to him if we could arrange for him in about ten days time to go down to the South of France for a time. it would be best if we could let him think that he is going down there solely in the Company's interests.

It occurred to us that possibly you have a car which you want to send down to R.{Sir Henry Royce}, and we could send Maddocks down with it, and let him stay down there for a time, under the impression that he was doing a special job for the company.

Will you kindly think over this and let us know what could be arranged in the matter?

B.J.
