Road tests - acceleration.

The acceleration figures obtained are what one expects after studying the road wheel power curves, and taking into account the comparative light weight of the body on improved 20 HP. chassis. The increase in performance over the Chrysler is approx. equal to the Chrysler superiority over the standard 20 HP. The superiority of the larger 20 HP. over the S.S. was rather surprising.

Standard performance tests.

Comparative results of tests over the standard road test hills are given. These figures are given to shew up the difference in performance given by :

(a) Standard 20 HP. (12-G1V)
(b) Standard 20 HP. with heavier body than (a) (17-G1V)
(c) Turbulent head 20 HP. (14-G1V).
(d) 20 HP. with larger bore (.200") with turbulent head (5.25/1) and 14% larger carb. chokes and air valve ports.
(e) Chrysler '75'.
(f) S.S. (21-KX).

The Stanton Hill test on 14-G1V is rather mis-leading - it shows this car to be worse than the standard 20 HP. (12-G1V). The reason for the discrepancy is that low speed carburation spoilt the climb (loading up), and again we should not expect a very big difference on this hill when we consider the small power increase shewn on the power curve. The hill is very short, the max. speed attained being the speed given as finishing speed - it is therefore a low speed full throttle test.
