I have checked over your latest drawing N.Sch.4034, and of the two arrangements shown I prefer Fig.2. I am not, however, absolutely clear in my mind how the adjustment for the free length is obtained. This is probably due to the diagramatic method employed for showing the screw threads. I take it that there is a plug screwed into the bellows end, which acts as a solid stop and that into this plug is screwed a tube which gives the free length position. If I am wrong, will you please correct me? If I am right in my assumption it seems to me that it will first be necessary to adjust the solid length position and then, without altering this adjustment, to make an adjustment on the free length position, finally sweating both adjustments. This, I think, should be quite simple. I would suggest that we make up one or two assemblies for trial, and would like to know whether | ||
