29. The weather was fine and slightly foggy. The road was wet from rain which had fallen up to about 30 minutes before time of accident. The surface was composed of tar-macadam.

An endeavour was made the next day to settle up for the damage to the hedge, but the owner of the farm, Mr. W.H. Shacklock, Hill Farm, Edwalton, Notts., was not available.
