X483 EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 6/T. 25th July, 1923. Messrs. Peto & Radford, 50, Grosvenor Gardens, London, S.W.1. For the attention of Mr. G.R.N.Minchin. Dear Sirs, Answering your letter ref. M {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /C.237 of the 23rd inst., and taking the points in the order raised by you:- 1. Your query re ignition current rather mystifies us. It is an intermittent current, but continuous in the sense that it is required continuously, unless of course a chassis be magneto fitted. The amount of current varies from low speed to high speed, but may be taken on the average as approximately 1 1/2 amperes. 2. We suggested that a reduction of 1 ampere in the minimum specified peak current after 20 minutes running would result in a reduction of rather more than one ampere on a machine normally hot in actual service. The reason of this is that there seems to be a rather greater tendency to increase, the higher the initial setting. Thus the net result might be a rather bigger reduction than 1 ampere. Contd. | ||
