1280 Experimental Dept. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.1/MH. {M. Huckerby} 26th, October 1938. Messrs. Rotherham & Sons Ltd., COVENTRY. For the attention of Mr.W.L.Masters. Dear Sirs, Referring to your letter of the 24th. inst. and the sample of radiator overflow valve which you have forwarded, we regret to say that these valve parts open in the wrong direction - that is to say, we require a valve which will only open to allow steam to escape from the radiator when a pressure of 2 to 3 lbs. is reached. The valve which you have sent us is a suction valve. We would like to know whether this is an error and whether you have a valve of the type we want. On receipt of advice as to this we will return the valve already sent to us, to you. If you have such a valve will you please give us a quotation for supplying in lots of 500. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
