SILVER WRAITH.

We have now completed the project for the Silver Wraith i.e. a Wraith Chassis made from the B.3. chassis; quarter scale layout of the body and chassis is shown on PD.188 and the sixteenth scale of the complete car is shown on PD.189 both herewith, (prints to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}).

The following are the modifications to the design for B.3. which are required to produce the Silver Wraith:

(1) 9" in the centre of the side channels and frame cross has to be added, this is 3" more than for B.3. The parallel portion at the back end of the frame is extended 10" more than B.5.

(2) The road wheels are unchanged from B.50 at 16 x 5", but 7½" tyres are fitted thus raising the car ¼" above B.3. and .300 above B.50.

(3) The rear track is increased from 58" to 59¼" by a modified spring base forging and lengthened axle shafts applied to the semi-floating B.3. rear axle.

(4) The steering column of B.3. is rocked up 3¼" and this entails a slight modification to the sheet metal dash pressing.

(5) The internals of the radiator are those of B.3. and B.50, and this remark also applies to the mounting. The shell of the radiator and shutter are those of Wraith 3. It will be easy to produce a project for combining these two existing units. The headlamp and horn support are those of B.3.
