X. 43425. DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} /THR1/CB11-7-21. 11th July 1921. Messrs S.Smith & Sons (M.A) Ltd. Central Works. Edgware Road, CRICKLEWOOD. N.W.2. Dear Sirs, Starter Motor for "Goshawk II" Engine. With further reference to yours of the 8th inst., and ours of the 9th inst., ref: DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} /THR1/CB9-7-21. Since writing you we have been thinking further as to the reason for your request to alter the dimension on the ball bearing seating on the shaft drawing R.50045 on above with reference to ensuring the armature being true after winding. We would like to point out that it is equally essential for our shaft extension to run absolutely true, and that nothing you do to the shaft will interfere with this in any way. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
