Wardle Bank, Wimbledon, LONDON S.W.19. Confidential. March 21st. 1944. For the attention of Mr. F.I. Connolly. Dear Mr. Connolly, Thank you for your letter of the 20th. inst., Your Celestra CL.2177, while being the selected pattern for the particular job we have in mind, was also thought to be comparable with the Rover class of trim. I may have misunderstood your earlier comments about this class of hide. If so, please correct me. To be frank, we should not want a leather inferior to that supplied to Rover. Perhaps you could clear this matter up for me, and if you would be so good, give me relative prices per foot. I should like a price for Vaumol hide to the pattern of CL.2177, and the actual price of the Celestra hides of the same pattern. The These would have to be on a pre-war basis, of course. With regard to the large patterns I requested, perhaps it would be as well to have in Vaumol hide, and I can then make a comparison between the leathers. However, as this is primarily a pattern for matching purposes I will leave it entirely in your hands to supply whichever is the more convenient. Thanking you for your help. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Limited. [Illegible initial] R.{Sir Henry Royce} GREENE. | ||
