If Friday's trial of hardening is satisfactory, Firths will be able to give us a more considered opinion as to the date of delivery of the six trial sets of springs.

Not a moment will be lost, as Firths realise the importance of completing the trial springs at the earliest possible date. If I may venture to fix a date for delivery of the first trial set, I should say about four weeks from now.

Firths are averse to sending us main plates without leaves, as they do not wish any tests to be made except of complete springs manufactured by the method they have adopted.

I have informed Firths that it will suit us best if they will deliver first of all springs of Chrome Vanadium Steel.
