To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From G.W.H X5840 Hôtel de France Chateauroux. 25/3/30 The chief trouble with the exhaust sliding joint, is the bend in the exhaust pipe close to the joint, this bend distorts thus making the sliding joint out of alignment with the pipe which cause's it to jam. The silencer brackets are then bent backwards when contraction takes place, as the stay or the exhaust pipe prevents the pipe going forwards. The sketch sent yesterday of the longer pipe will tend to hold up the pipe more in alignment. G.W.H. | ||
