RR 238 (150 BKS.) (DS 451-8-12 24) MP 306975 6120 ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To: HEW Order No. Customer's No. 500 Hours Endurance Test on Peregrine Distributor EXI The above distributor has now completed a 500 hours endurance, embodying the following modifications. 1 New type cam 2 Special rubbing blocks 3 Ventilation holes opened out to .200 dia and two extra holes added 4 Rotor Blade without trail, & with one screw fixing. 5 Windmill rotor. Cam. This cam is so formed as to open the points when the rotor blade is exactly opposite a distributor segment. The cam was lubricated every 87 hours, which is the equivalent of 1000 miles running on the road. It can be seen by the rotor blade that the points were opening at the correct time. Rubbing Blocks. These rubbing blocks were made of a special material, which appears to be rather soft. The spring pressure was 14 ozs for each lever. One rubbing block has worn .0055"; the other .0094". It seems rather strange that we cannot reproduce the trouble experienced. Signed: C B A D This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
