To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3809 BY/Cgh{W Clough}6/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}20.7.26. Re Chassis 12-EX - Wire Wheels with well-base Rims. With reference to the difficulty you have experienced due to the spokes of the wire wheels with well-base rims when fitted to the front axle, fouling the brake drums, we have now received a set of 6 new wheels which have been modified to give clearance at this point. These wheels are being sent into the Exptl: Dept: this afternoon, and we presume that you will arrange for same to be fitted to 12-EX as soon as possible. In regard to the wheels of the above type which you have in stock, if you will arrange to send them into the Despatch Stores, and let us know the number of wheels, we will have them returned to the Dunlop Co., so that they can be modified in accordance with the above.
