Toledo Woodhead Springs Ltd.,
Toledo Steel Works,
Sheffield.1.

For the attention of Mr. Frank Woodhead.
Leaf Springs.

Dear Sirs,

We are today sending you an order for 1 pair of 1000 lb. rear springs. We would like these springs to have a 5 1/2" initial deflection and 1/2" of negative camber under the above load. That is to say 5" of free camber. Other dimensions you may require will be found on our drawing FB.4271.

Will you please interleave these springs in your usual manner with the exception of the top three rubbing surfaces, that is between leaves 1 & 2, 2 & 3, 3 & 4. We want the latest Ferodo interleaving between these leaves, and will you therefore obtain the necessary material from Messrs. Ferodo.

The reason for the small deflection required for the springs is that we are specially interested in saving weight in the particular car to which they are to be fitted.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
